Historical Romance Book Club

It Happened One MidnightMore than one beautiful woman’s hopes have been dashed on the rocky shoals of Jonathan Redmond’s heart. With his riveting good looks and Redmond wealth and bague or et argent homme power, the world is his oyster until an ultimatum from his father and a chilling gypsy prophesy send him hurtling headlong toward bague argent femme croix a fate he’ll bague or comment savoir do anything to avoid: matrimony.

Intoxicating, elusive Thomasina de Ballesteros has the bague or vegetal bloods bague argent unode50 of London at her feet. But none of them knows the real Tommy the one with a shocking pedigree, a few bague or payer en 3 fois too many secrets, and a healthy scorn for rakes like Jonathan.

She is everything Jonathan never wanted. But on one fateful midnight, he’s drawn into Tommy’s world of risk, dangerand a desire he’d never dreamed possible.

Finished chapter 4. bague argent femme taille 54 I’ve forgotten bague or papillon what a misguided bastard of a father Isaiah is. I agree, Sam, JAL gives us bague argent valeur exceptional insight into cdiscount bague or et diamants the complex and layered dynamics between Isaiah and his family.

This in particular is brilliant:

“I feel obliged to point out that I haven’t yet disappeared, Father. Surely that fact numbers among my virtues, too.”

Isaiah bague or blanc 750 rubis lifted his head. He pinned him with a quelling stare. Clearly he wasn’t nettoyer bague argent pierre at claddagh bague or all amused. The “yet” in particular did Jonathan no favors.

But, God, it had been tremendously satisfying to say it. Because if his father possessed any vulnerability at all, it had to do with Lyon. His Achilles’ heel.

Jonathan met his father’s gaze bague or jaune rhodolite evenly.

Blink, bague argent zircon noir you bastard, he willed him.

“I feel certain you’ll do your duty, Jonathan.”

He said it almost gently. But under the circumstances Jonathan thought he’d possibly never heard more contemptuous words. He really thinks I will do precisely what he says, he thought. Good God.

Loving the gentle affectionate teasings between Jonathan and Violet. I’m also getting excited at the frequent mentions of Lyon. I think, I read his book before I read this one (and half the others), so I didn’t appreciate the building up of tension at the time .

Just finished chapter six: I love that the painter of the paintings of the Velvet glove was mentioned. (It reminded me of how connected the Pennyroyal bague or saphir et zirconium Green community is AND made me wonder how many other connections I have missed in this one so bague or blanc et saphir maty far. LOL).

Hero and Heroine chemistry spoiler

I like how Jonathan keeps thinking that Tommy is trouble and bague or gris manege bijoux how she is bague or blanc aigue marine rectangulaire not normally his type. (His type is normally cool blondes). The ironic part achat bague or blanc being Jonathan thinking she was like a cat picking out a person who loathed cats because he obviously (he thinks) does not care if she talks to him or not. hehehe

I also got a kick out of Argosy trying his best to charm Tommy but it clearly was not working.

Finished Chapter 9. Argosy provided funny interlude but one can see why, when up against Jonathan, Tommy treated Argosy like a child to be indulged now and then when she doesn’t tune him out completely. I am loving the quality bantering between our two protagonists. They just get each other so perfectly and they’re not afraid to acknowledge their rare connection, although neither are recognising any romantic intention yet, probably because there aren’t yet any. Just a deep seated mutual fascination. It is more a spiritual/intellectual connection at this stage.

Sorry about this long quote, but this is soooo GOOD:”I’m not precisely a rake, you know.”

“Oh, do forgive me. bague or rose original What precisely does one call a man who enjoys an allegedly unbroken string of conquests”

“The word ‘conquest’ implies a great degree of effort. Can I help it if they just . . belle bague or blanc . fall elargir bague or at my feet” He tried and failed to suppress a smile that was, admittedly, rakish. “It wasn’t always that way. And only a fool would refrain bague or guy laroche from the occasional partaking of such . . . serendipitous bounty.”..
